Seattle trip

A couple of pics from the trip (with my new short do). Everyone tell Steve to get better! He's been sick since Monday! Obviously he was sick with loneliness ...

The new 9-0 can kiss it

I watched the fourth ep of the new 9-0 last night and cringed through the entire episode. I think I am done. I was only watching to see Dylan. Annie is AWFUL. I don't buy Silver and Dixon, mainly because Silver makes me sick. I can't take all the singing. I really - can't take all the singing. Complete second hand embarrassment. Ethan needs to man up. Naomi looks older than her Mom. That's not what wrap-up parties for school plays look like. Guy on the right, are you even on the show anymore? The only good part of the show was it took me roughly 20 minutes to watch since I've resorted to fast-forwarding any scene Annie is in. You made Ty cookies and now he invited you to his hotel room and you're, upset? Like to the point of dramatic tears and a smooth, slide down the door fall? Watch it with that skirt. Kelly can't be expected to carry the entire show, right? IT'S SO CHEESY. I kind of just want them all to go away. And I want these guys to come back. AND Valerie. I can't be the only one??

I love jewelry

I recently read somewhere that is better to know all about current events than the proper way to accessorize. I happen to disagree. I love accessorizing. And maybe I don't do it the *right* way but it happens to be more interesting to me than the news, sometimes. Don't sigh. I still know the main points. Steve sends me articles everyday from the WSJ but you don't really want me to summarize that on here right??

Here are my favorites:

I love Jamie Joseph. Everytime I go into Twist they ask me when I am going to get my cocktail ring. It's on my Wish List people. Someday.

I get compliments on these earrings, all the time. Dana Reed does really cool things with both silver and gold, plus she knows how to mix the two to look good. She's one of the few reasons I wear silver now. That's a big deal. Trust me.

Manon Von Gerkan's
necklaces are just - cool. I just noticed that the new cover of Lucky has Jessica Simpson on it and she is wearing one of her necklaces. I've been begging for the lariat. Here's hoping.

I can't really afford these guys, but everything they do rocks.

And of course, Akira for shoes. I just found out we get 15% off for working in the building. I was giddy.

Just got back from Seattle and had a wonderful time seeing everyone. I went for work which was nice. I got to see Shannon and her lovely three. Sophia was a big help picking out clothes at the new H&M in Southcenter. Obviously hats will not be my thing this fall. I think Huddy liked me. Then I stayed with Karrie and hung out with some old friends at Oktoberfest where they gave us shot glasses to "taste" all the beers. Do you see the size mug Steve has in his hands below? Sunday Shannon hooked us up with GREAT seats at the Seahawks game and I got to see our first win of the year. Obviously, I was the deciding factor.

Did anyone watch the Emmy's? I skimmed through but I was *crying* during Ricky Gervais bit. That man kills me.

Take a listen to: Swing That Tambourine - Kristoffer Ragnstam (discovered this song on the latest Paste CD)

And finally, peonies just make me happy.

All right US Weekly ..

Gloves up.

I've been skeptical of you for a while now. I have Pink, People online, Socialite Life. You're basically old news anyway these days and now you're treading on thin ice with me. I just read the article regarding Bristol Palin and you're blatantly speculating Sarah Palin's youngest with down syndrome is actually her daughter's baby. Do you actually know that?!? I don't like mixing my celebrity gossip with politics. You're stories have been turning out to be un-true more often that not. I realize Britney is pulling herself together (didn't she look great at the VMA's?) and maybe that's bad for business but let's maybe leave politics to someone else.

Some good links or interests for the week ..

Great recaps of fashion week: http://secondcitystyle.typepad.com/

Making me giggle feverishly every time I read an entry (a multiple offender myself): http://stuffwhitepeoplelike.com/

If I could have a house full of her art I would: http://cathynichols.blogspot.com/

Always nice finding funny women (thank you Gina for introducing me to Sarah Haskins): http://current.com/topics/88794117_sarah_haskins

The owner of the store gave me 10% off my new Hobo wallet when she found out WHY I was buying a new wallet. I love Fixture! http://www.shopfixture.com/

This show Fringe keeps getting good reviews (it starts tonight on Fox) and I love Lt. Daniels so ..

Music I can't get out of my head:

Jordin Sparks - One Step at a Time
One Block Radius - Up In The Hills
Michael Franti - Say Hey
Joe Purdy - Can't Get It Right Today
Pony - Erin McCartney
How Lucky We Are - Meiko
Shattered - O.A.R.

The first and last are guilty pleasures ... but I love them.

My favorite picture from this weekend at Germanfest in Lincoln Square. Sweatshirt around the waist? He'll never learn.
