You think you know someone ..

"When your parents popped in a Neil Diamond tape on repeat during long interstate road trips, you reluctantly sang along. Never thought you'd turn out to be a Diamond fan now, right? But singing along to "Sweet Caroline" and "Brother Love's Traveling Salvation Show" is so addictive now, you'd do anything to see Neil on stage. A band out of San Francisco can put a rest to that Diamond thirst. Super Diamond delivers a high-octane Diamond tribute show that rocks!"

You think you know someone, especially the man you walked down the sandy aisle to marry in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida. Until one day he casually mentions he happens to like Neil Diamond. Like, you ask? No, love. So you think, for Christmas, that a funny ha-ha kind of gift would be Super Diamond tickets in the dead of winter. You've seen them before in Seattle, on a Friday night, you stayed for about a half an hour and proceeded to hit the town after. So you think - House of Blues, Saturday night, what fun! He'll love me so much! You buy the tickets. You then *forget* about it completely until it pops up on your calendar and you give your husband a late, aren't I clever, Christmas gift. He's excited, surprisingly, a little more than you'd hoped for. So you go out to dinner, wear your most comfortable shoes and anticipate a few laughs and a spot in the corner. You in fact, have no idea what is coming.

Your husband turns into a Neil Diamond FANATIC in front of your very eyes. Singing, loudly, to every song. Doing the white-man head bop. Pushing people out of the way to make room for his jig. Pleading with you to dance, to sing, abhorring the fact you don't know the words to all of the songs (a look of disgust when you've never even heard it). The dancing, the singing, the finding "room to dance" doesn't stop. The entire two hour concert. You get to the point your feet hurt and you've been bumped (by your husband even) so many times you can't stand up straight. So you ask to leave and the look of shock and awe is unprecedented. "We haven't heard Sweet Caroline. Coming to America. Are you actually serious? How could you?" So you feign interest to stay, leaning up against wall to ease your tired feet. Coming to America comes on and you're allowed to slowly walk out, while it's playing, to beat the traffic. Doors open at 7:30. Show starts at 10:45. Concert is over around 12:30. Thanks, Neil. I learned something scary about my husband. Steve 1 - Jennifer 342. (Blair got a bulldog last night on Gossip Girl!)

I am cracking up over here. A big group of us saw SD once and Denise and I witnessed the same (although less extreme!) amongst our friends. And I've never seen another show of theirs...ever again!

Now you can go every single time they come to town. Hahahahaha!
